Registration for the 2009 Capstone and Stonesetters Student Legislatures is now open.  Early discount registration closes February 15th.  These popular seminars reach capacity quickly, so you must act soon to reserve a place. 

Capstone attracts students from across Idaho to learn about the workings of our state government during the legislative session.  Giving students a passion for citizenship and justice through direct experience, the seminars include bill drafting, mock legislature, policy debate, briefings with public officials, interaction with lobbyists, constitutional law, mock appellate court, and much more.  Parents are encouraged to attend at no charge.

Capstone Seminar: January 19-22

The Capstone Student Legislature for ages 13-18 will be held at the Statehouse, with an optional Friday public speaking seminar.   Parents are welcome to attend.

Stonesetters Seminar: January 23

The 8-12 year old Stonesetters Student Legislature will be held Friday only, at the Statehouse.  Designed for parents and students, Stonesetter “legislators” will focus on how a bill becomes a law, parliamentary procedures, and introductions to legislators, while gaining experience in writing and debating their own bills.  A parent is required to attend.
